In the municipality of Santa Cristina Gela, in the province of Palermo, Tenuta Baglio di Pianetto is located in a suggestive hilly amphitheater that reaches an altitude, unusual for Sicily, of just over 900 meters above sea level. For this reason, it enjoys particular climatic conditions that, combined with an extraordinary variety of soil, give the grapes a unique aromatic profile.
On the 106 hectares of vineyards cultivated on high ground, there is the ancient family home transformed into an elegant hospitality center and an innovative vertically developed wine cellar intended for production, where private visits and introductory wine courses are organized.
This selection interprets the essence of the territory and its oenological vocation, highlighting the qualities of a specific micro-zone linked to a single road, Via Francia (which takes its name from the Via Francigena), where the Baglio di Pianetto winery is located. The emblematic name is almost a sign of destiny if we consider the family’s connection with France.
