Ramione is born from the encounter of two distinct yet complementary terroirs: the Merlot comes from the medium-textured limestone soils of Tenuta Pianetto, in Santa Cristina Gela (PA), located at approximately 650 meters above sea level, while the Nero d’Avola is rooted in the clayey soils of Tenuta Baroni, in Noto (SR), approximately 50 meters above sea level. This dual origin allows the wine to express a complex balance between freshness and depth.
After careful manual selection, the grapes are vinified separately in temperature-controlled steel tanks. Aged in new and second-use French oak barriques for 12 months, followed by a further aging period in bottle for at least 2 years, allowing the wine to develop finesse and harmony.
Ramione displays an intense ruby red color. The bouquet is broad and enveloping: notes of ripe red fruits, such as blackberry and raspberry, emerge, intertwining with tertiary aromas of vanilla, licorice, and nutmeg, the result of the oak aging. On the palate, the structure is full and well-balanced. A soft entry gives way to fine tannins and a harmonious and persistent finish, in which the fruity and spicy notes return.
Ramione represents a perfect synthesis of French elegance and Sicilian soul: a wine that combines territorial expression and oenological finesse, ideal paired with structured first courses such as baked pasta and game-based second courses.
